Original Sin
As a doctrine, it’s arguable, but as a cocktail it’s just short of a religious experience. I’m not sure where the name of this came from, but there’s little doubt that the “green fairy” (absinthe) has accelerated many a soul’s journey along its already sinful path. In this case, the delicate notes of Junmai sake and orange-blossom honey are the angel on your other shoulder. There’s a lot of good work going on in this glass! Protein-packed Breakfast Made Easy!
Trying to track your protein intake and macros becomes increasingly challenging as a college student with a hectic schedule, so I try to meal prep as much as possible. One of my favorite breakfasts to prepare in advance is overnight oats mixed with my favorite protein powder. I figured out that by mixing chocolate protein with chia seeds I was able to create overnight oats similar to chocolate pudding! It is so easy, delicious, and best of all macro-friendly. :) Ingredients: ¼ c of Old Fashioned Quaker Oats (dry) ⅝ c of Milk 1 scoop of your favorite chocolate protein...
Harissa Marinated Flank Steak
This harissa marinated flank steak has the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and salty. The harissa really takes the flavor up a notch and pairs beautifully with the lemon, herbs, garlic, spices, and honey. Once you’ve got flank steak marinated, it cooks together so fast, which is why I love flank steak. Don’t forget to slice against the grain to get really tender meat:) Ingredients: 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 lemon, zested and juiced 2 tablespoons harissa 1 sprig each of thyme and rosemary, leaves finely chopped 4 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 teaspoon coriander 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon kosher...
Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce
At the beginning of every garden season I wait with anticipation for all of the produce that I’m about to get. One of the first things to come up is rhubarb, and shortly after is strawberries. Once these show up its very exciting and a great signal that summer is officially open us. Rhubarb starts in spring and can keep growing until fall, and strawberries depending on the variety of strawberry plant you have you can have them in June and throughout the season until Fall. I personally grow everbearing strawberries because then you get a good harvest in June,...
