Black Friday is here. I thought Id get into the spirit of things and create something using activated charcoal. I love the idea of black food. Its so rare and fun to see! So I thought Id create a pretty smoothie bowl using some activated charcoal to really show it off! With all the shopping I have planned for the weekend, a nutritious and filling breakfast is definitely in order. This Activated Charcoal Smoothie Bowl is kinda as healthy as it gets. Its packed full of fruit, nuts and seeds and activated charcoal of course! Winner!
Activated charcoal doesnt have much flavour. What it does have is loads of health benefits and a beautiful, dramatic colour and who doesnt want that in their smoothie bowls?!

Activated Charcoal Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 banana fresh or frozen
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/2 cup mixed berries fresh or frozen
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey for non-vegan option)
- 5 7 almonds
- 2 tsp activated charcoal powder
- granola (for serving)
Instructions

Place ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until completely smooth.

Pour smoothie into a bowl and top with fruit and granola.
