Summer soup is on!
Popular Ramen restaurant Tonchin and Williamsburg pizza restaurant Leo have teamed up for an epic bowl of noodles that combines the best of both the eateries’ signature dishes.
The dream collab is available exclusively at Tonchin Brooklyn (109 North 3rd Street), at both lunch and dinner and aims to blend Tokyo and New York flavors for a seamless summer sipping experience.
The pork tonkatsu-based dish highlights Leo’s signature marinara sauce and sourdough crust, with Tonchin’s signature handmade ramen noodles. Grated parmesan on top adds a nice cheesiness, Leo’s hot oil adds a kick, plus tons of fresh basil adds some green. Inside the bowl, you’ll also find crisp pieces of pecorino-crusted guanciale. A veggie pizza ramen is also available and made with Leo’s homemade tomato sauce, Tonchin veggie dashi, Leo’s hot oil, basil, homemade noodles, parmesan, pecorino, shiitake tomato confit and topped with a Leo’s grissini stick. Both dishes are $20.
The special will run for a few more weeks, with no end date yet scheduled. In honor of the collab, a special t-shirt is also available for purchase, because why leave a restaurant without cute merch?
The dish pairs nicely with Tonchin’s Rockaway Brewing collab “Karaoke Kid Pale Ale” or the menu of natural wines. An Italian-inspired dessert, the soba panna cotta, can also finish off your meal on a sweet note, made with Kettl tea soba, honey and mint olive oil.
"Tonchin’s mission has always been From Tokyo to New York, With Love," says Dylan Capello, Tonchin Brooklyn's General Manager. "This was our effort to blend iconic foods from both cities, honor our Japanese roots and highlight a New York food staple. We think of this as the perfect embodiment of our love for both cultures.”
