Coffee holiday punch - two ways

admin

It’s that time of year again. Whether it’s friends gathering at holiday parties, family get-togethers, or work events, a delicious punch bowl filled with good cheer and flavor is always a winner. Here are two of our coffee-filled favorites — one hot and one cold. With or without alcohol these punches are sure to get the party started. Cheers!

Peppermint coffee ice cream delight

A wonderful holiday flavored ice cream treat, combining the seasonal cheer of peppermint with the perennial favorite chocolate. We suggest leaving a toppings bar alongside of the punch bowl for people to garnish their drink as they like. This recipe will serve 12-14.

Ingredients

  • I & 1/2 gallons vanilla ice cream
  • 3/4 pot of fresh, chilled coffee
  • 4 cups milk
  • 20 ounces peppermint bark chocolates
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup vodka* (optional, you can leave it out or even add another 1/2 cup)
  • Toppings of choice: sprinkles, whipped cream, crushed bark candy, or whatever you can dream of!

Directions

1.) Crush your peppermint bark in the blender. Set some to the side for use as garnish.

2.) Combine the (vodka if using), milk, syrup, and coffee with the crushed bark and blend until smooth.

3.) Serve in a large punch bowl, with a toppings area off to the side. Your guests will be happy to garnish their holiday punch with the crushed bark, whipped cream, sprinkles, or the toppings of their choice!

The queen’s sweet holiday grog

A hot and spicy holiday punch filled with the flavors of the season! This recipe will serve up to 12 depending on the cup size.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cups hot coffee
  • 1 quart hot apple cider
  • 1 cup spiced rum (add another 1/2 cup if you choose, or leave out entirely)
  • 3 teaspoon of cinnamon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons clove
  • A pinch nutmeg

Directions

1.) Heat your apple cider on the stove until it just begins to bubble.

2.) Lower the heat and add honey, coffee, and spices.

3.) Simmer for 5 minutes on a very low heat.

4.) Add the liquor and stir completely. Pour your grog into your favorite punch bowl.

5.) Garnish with orange peel and serve with cinnamon sticks for mixing.

6.) Enjoy!
