Big Lux is the alter ego of Kevin Lowther II a hip hop musician who will change the way you look at the instrument forever. Classically trained in his hometown of Westerly, RI, he has jazz, country and hip-hop influences that allow him to blend styles and provide fresh new takes on music of every genre. Constantly in motion, his shows are raw with a physicality that sets him apart from any other string player on earth. His versatility as a vocalist, beatboxer, and multi-instrumentalist keeps his shows fresh and audiences on their feet. He released his first cover album Discovery in 2017. His recently released EP Major is available on all streaming platforms. Sarah is the lead vocalist for The DreamCatchers and performs in a variety of musical acts in addition to the band. With powerful vocals and piano, she puts a unique spin on all your favorite songs.

Bundle up and join an all-day adventure exploring beautiful Prudence Island! Start at the southern tip, where you can expect to see harbor seals resting on the rocks. From there make several stops to look for bird species both on land and in the water. Along the way, your guide will share with you the centuries-old history of human land use on Prudence Island. This trip entails a few short (less than one mile) walks and travel in a passenger van.

On Saturday, February 8, please join us between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the Community Center to design and write a Valentines Day card for a Veteran! Cards will be sent out to our wonderful Veterans and service members. Children are also able to create a Happy Heart for a friend, family-member or loved ones to take home with them. Light refreshments will be served.

Are you and your family interested in electronics, what theyre made of and how they work? If the answer is yes, this is the perfect event for you. This is an opportunity for participants interested in technology to take apart various electronics including printers, computers and phones! We will also be offering open program including nature, archery, crafts, S.T.E.M. and self-guided activities. Registration cost per participant is $10.00 for Electronic Take Apart or a half-day of program. For $15.00 participants can partake in either a full day of program or Electronic Take Apart and a half-day of program.

Join Save The Bay aboard an education vessel as we motor through historic Newport Harbor and take in 360 views of seals resting on Citing Rock off of Rose Island and the Newport Bridge. $17 for Save The Bay members, seniors and children aged 3-12; $22 for non-members.

Matt currently serves as the director of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in Leicester Public Schools. He earned a masters degree in special education and administration and has his Ed.D. in educational leadership from Boston College. Matt holds licenses in teaching, school administration, and MA superintendent.

Winter is coming, theres not a whole lot we can do about it, but we can embrace it. In an effort to bring joy, excitement and something to look forward to the winter months, I will be offering weekly goat hikes. When the weather gets cold, it doesnt mean we cant get outside, get some fresh air, blow the stink off (as my mom would say) and enjoy the beauty that the winter months bring. Join us for a two hour goat hike around historic Simmons Farm, hikes will be led by Farmer Karla and her crew of adventurous, fun loving goats. Each participant will get their own goat to walk on a leash. There will be stops along the way to let the goats nibble, through the hike you will have the full attention of your farmer and you can ask all the burning questions you have ever wanted to know about Simmons Farm, farming in New England, the life of a farmer, or something else, just ask.

We will conclude our afternoon with a warm cup of hot chocolate made with the delicious milk from here on the farm!

What a special Valentines Day at the Club! Friday, February 14 we will host Sophie and Fiachra in the Hall for a special concert (with some great raffle prizes as well) while our downstairs Pub will be humming as usual. Tickets are $20, $15 for Club members.

Winter is coming, theres not a whole lot we can do about it, but we can embrace it. In an effort to bring joy, excitement and something to look forward to the winter months, I will be offering weekly goat hikes. When the weather gets cold, it doesnt mean we cant get outside, get some fresh air, blow the stink off (as my mom would say) and enjoy the beauty that the winter months bring. Join us for a two hour goat hike around historic Simmons Farm, hikes will be led by Farmer Karla and her crew of adventurous, fun loving goats. Each participant will get their own goat to walk on a leash. There will be stops along the way to let the goats nibble, through the hike you will have the full attention of your farmer and you can ask all the burning questions you have ever wanted to know about Simmons Farm, farming in New England, the life of a farmer, or something else, just ask.

We will conclude our afternoon with a warm cup of hot chocolate made with the delicious milk from here on the farm!
